Rural municipalities are expressing support for Saskatchewan’s proposed firearms act.

SARM president Ray Orb says SARM is supporting the provincial legislation to help insulate rural residents from misguided federal policies.

He says Ottawa’s new gun law proposals go too far and would ban use of some rifles and shotguns in use on the farm.

Orb is urging the Saskatchewan legislature to pass the provincial Firearms Act as soon as possible.
