The City of Regina is joining the Government of Saskatchewan in recognizing Monday, September 19, as a day in tribute and commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II.
A Provincial Memorial Service will be held in Regina tomorrow to honour Queen Elizabeth’s life and her reign.
The service is open to the public, and it will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral at 1861 McIntyre Street.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and general seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. If necessary, there will be additional seating provided in the adjoining parish hall with closed-circuit television. Masks are optional but welcome.
The memorial service will also be live streamed over St. Paul’s Facebook page.

Flags at City Hall will remain at half-mast until sunset on Sept. 19
There is also a book of condolences for the late Queen that residents can sign in both City Hall and the Government House.
“Queen Elizabeth was the only monarch that many of us have ever known, and her deep affection for Canada, Saskatchewan and Regina was well known. The City of Regina was honoured to have hosted Her Majesty on six occasions, the last time being in 2005 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Saskatchewan becoming a province,” Mayor Sandra Masters said.
The City of Regina is not designating Sept. 19 as a statutory holiday for civic employees. All programs and services will operate as regularly scheduled.
