Sask. RCMP warn of person with knife near Wakaw, possibly related to recent stabbings

The Saskatchewan RCMP has issued an emergency reporting that an individual with a knife in a vehicle was last seen in Wakaw, about 90 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.

The vehicle, a 2008 white Chevrolet Avalanche, has the Saskatchewan license 953 LPL and was reported stolen out of Wakaw around 2:10 p.m. today.

The vehicle was last seen travelling in Wakaw on Cemetery Road. Their direction of travel is unknown, with unknown persons involved.

RCMP says this may be related to the stabbing rampage in the James Smith Cree Nation area and the nearby village of Weldon.

Police are still searching for the main suspect Myles Sanderson.

RCMP warns that if you are in the Wakaw area, seek immediate caution, allowing others into your residence shelter/shelter.

They also are saying not to leave a secure location, not approach suspicious people, and not pick up hitchhikers.
