Tourism Regina looking to showcase the area with several initiatives

Tourism Regina is hoping both visitors and locals will take advantage of some of the attractions Regina has to offer this summer.

To help celebrate Tourism Week, (May 29-June 4) Tourism Regina is recognizing several initiatives they have undertaken to help everyone find some of unique features the local area is able to offer.

One of the tools created by Tourism Regina is their digital guides. Chief Tourism and Growth Officer with Tourism Regina and Economic Development Regina, Chelsea Galloway says the digital guides provide a helpful service. “It’s a really great resource for people saying that if you want to come to Regina for the weekend or if you’re a local looking for something to do, you just go to Tourismregina.com, you click on our guides features and there are so many different options for many things for people to see and do.”

During the summer months, Tourism Regina is hoping everyone will fill their passports within the local region with the digital attraction pass. Galloway says “You go to a number  of different attractions within the city and once you hit all of them you claim a prize.” Some of the locations Galloway mentions are the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, Saskatchewan Science Centre and the Farmer’s Market.

One of the sectors of the local tourism industry that is a big hit with visitors and residents is the several craft breweries that Regina has to offer.

Tourism Regina is teaming up with several breweries to launch the Hop Circuit throughout the summer, giving everyone an incentive to visit the local breweries. Once someone has checked into each location, they can take home a collectible limited-edition glass. The Hop Circuit will wrap up on September 5.

Another initiative launched by Tourism Regina is the YQReady Training program. The tool was created to educate frontline workers within the tourism and hospitality sector in the city of Regina, providing the basics on things to see and do in and around Regina.

Also apart of Tourism Week, a new website was created by Tourism Regina, it can be found at tourismregina.com.
