A 13 year old youth is facing a charge of uttering threats following an investigation of online communication.

Just before 10:00 am on Tuesday, a student from an elementary school on the 3800 block of East Buckingham Drive received a online message that indicated a possible threat.

Authorities had already enacted their “Secure the Building” protocol for school safety.

After an investigation, a 13 year old was identified and was safely taken into custody.

The youth will be making their first court appearance in youth court on May 12.
