The federal government is providing 3.5 million dollars to expand the market for Canada’s turkey and chicken producers.

Funding goes to the Turkey Farmers of Canada and Chicken Farmers of Canada organizations to promote domestic demand and consumption.

Turkey Farmers of Canada will receive up to 2.5 million dollars to expand consumer awareness of the benefits of turkey meat as a high quality protein food.

Chicken Farmers of Canada will receive up to one million dollars to promote the safety and quality of Canadian chicken to consumers.

The federal government has promised fair compensation to supply-managed sectors for market access concessions made under the Trans-Pacific partnership.
