City crews have been working around the clock clearing off the snow on the roads and it looks like their work won’t end anytime soon.

Since the snowfall began Thursday evening, snow clearing vehicles have been operating in storm response mode  according to the City of Regina’s Tyler Bien.

It has been reported that 12 cm fell within the city limits of Regina as of Friday morning.

Bien says when city crews are operating under in storm response mode, the crews cycle through the high volume roads around the city to allow for proper access for the emergency vehicles.

Once work is completed for the storm response mode, Bien says crews will then move into the systematic plow mode, where work begin on the roads that fall under category 1-3.

The City of Regina will be using all of their 50 snow clearing vehicles to help clear off the snow on the roads.

Drivers are asked to use patience if encountering snow clearing crews and to give themselves plenty of space between vehicles. Bien recommends drivers give a three vehicle space between themselves and any snow clearing vehicles.

The City has also announced that snow routes will be in effect beginning Saturday morning at 6:00

No on-street parking on the streets with the snow flake symbol. This allows city crews to clear off the street from curb to curb

Snow routes will be in effect until Sunday morning at 6:00.
