It was your little frozen get away through the winter, but the time is coming to get ice shacks off of provincial lakes.

In a news release, the provincial government says the spring thaw can be unpredictable, so its best to start planning to grab your shack soon.

The official deadline is March 15th, for ice shacks on lakes south of Highway 16.

For ice shacks on lakes north of Highway 16, the deadline is March 31st.

You are also reminded to take out any debris, or garbage so its not left to go into the lake.

People who leave ice shacks on lakes after those dates could face fines, or prosecution.
