The Canadian Transportation Agency says CN Rail grain revenue was 2.5 million dollars above its maximum revenue entitlement in the crop year ending August first.

CN Rail had record movement of 26 million tons of grain, with revenue of 1.04 billion dollars.

CN Rail has 30 days to pay the revenue overage of 2.5 million dollars plus a five percent penalty of 120 thousand dollars to the Western Grains Research Foundation.

CP Rail moved a record of almost 26 million tons with revenue of 1 billion dollars, about 20 million below its maximum revenue entitlement for the crop year ending August first.

Grain movement in the past crop year was 9 percent above the previous year.
