Man airlifted to hospital following collision on Highway 35 near Tribune

One man was airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance following a collision Friday afternoon on Highway 35, four kilometres south of Tribune and 165 kilometres southeast of Regina.

Weyburn RCMP responded to reports of a collision between a semi and a piece of farm machinery.

An initial investigation found that the farm machinery struck the rear portion of the semi while travelling southbound. The collision caused the farm machinery to tip onto its side, blocking the highway in both directions.

STARS Air Ambulance attended and airlifted the driver of the farm machinery to the hospital with what were described as being serious injuries. The women driving the semi did not report any injuries.

Highway 35 was blocked for several hours but was cleared last night.
