Lumsden RCMP have arrested a 51-year-old man after a hit and run in Buena Vista on Sunday morning.

RCMP were called to Grand Avenue in Buena Vista after a man was struck by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene. The man was taken to hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers were able to locate the suspect about an hour later and took him into custody.

Shawn Ivey faces three charges, including dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, failure to stop after and accident causing bodily harm and operation of a conveyance while impaired by drugs causing bodily harm.

He will appear in court in December.
