Woman facing weapons charges after stealing vehicle in Regina’s North Central

A Regina woman is facing charges after stealing a vehicle.

On Tuesday, RPS Officers located a stolen vehicle travelling in North Regina. Officers deployed a spike belt and the vehicle continued to drive a short distance before it was abandoned near McCarthy Boulevard and Whelan Drive.

After deploying K-9 Unites, the female driver of the vehicle was located in a backyard on Benjamin Crescent. She was taken into custody without incident while police found a quantity of drugs on her person, as well as ID that did belong to her.

27-year-old Tayler Joy Williamson has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of automobile master key, possession of a weapon, 2 counts of possession of a scheduled substance, 5 counts of possession of an identity document, and failure to comply with a probation order.

She made her first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
