Alberta man facing drug charges after being pulled over for going 164 km/h near Wolseley

An Alberta man is facing charges after traveling 164 km/h on Highway #1, near Wolseley

On July 16th, just before noon, RCMP observed a vehicle speeding excessively near Wolseley.

The officer pulled over the vehicle and noticed a sum of cash and illegal cigarettes in plain view. A full search of the vehicle was conducted, and officers seized the illegal cigarettes, 31 grams of cocaine, and about $140,000 in Canadian bills.

As a result, Jeffrey Weitzel from Edmonton is facing several charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceed of crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession on unmarked tobacco, possession of unstamped tobacco, and the purchase of unmarked tobacco.

Weitzel will make his first court appearance on October 19th.
