Regina Police say a man is in custody after officers conducted an investigation in relation to a firearms offence Sunday evening.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of Garnet Street in the city’s north central area just before 7:30 p.m. Once police arrived to the residence, officers noticed a man exiting a neighbouring home carrying a gun. Police followed the individual, which is when they heard a gunshot and saw the man running.
As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Brian Thorn-Bitternose was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit which required additional police resources to create a perimeter around the scene.
A firearm and ammunition was seized in a nearby yard.
Thorn-Bitternose faces 15 charges total, including discharging a firearm in a reckless manner. The accused will be in court Monday afternoon.
