First Football Game

My husband Drew and I did something pretty special with our daughter over the weekend, we went to her first Rider game! I will admit I was a little anxious about how it was going to go taking a 14 month old into a crowded stadium with all the people and noises and stimulation but it was honestly so great! I think my favourite part of the whole experience was walking her around the Sask Drive side of Mosaic Stadium and seeing her eyes go so big looking through the gates into what was going on in there! Then when we turned and she realized we were going inside, that little girl almost jumped right out of my arms!! The worst part was definitely the heat and that took us out around the 4th quarter, but over half the game for a first time was pretty great!

One quick story I have to share about when we were leaving the stadium! I noticed all these people set up with wagons and boxes on Elphinstone as we were walking out, and I thought ‘what could this all be!?’. The answer: Girl Guides! And what a group of smart Girl Guides they were! I never had to sell things door to door for fundraisers as a kid but I might have to set up Halle by the stadium if we ever do someday because can you imagine all the happy Rider fans coming off that win? Those girls probably sold out! You’d really have to pay attention to the score though…if starts taking a turn might be worth packing things up before the crowd!
