The Saskatchewan RCMP have tried to fill in what details they can about the on-going amber alert.

Police are concerned for the safety of eight year old Hunter Potts, and his sister, seven year old Luna Potts.  Its believed the children’s mother Leah is with them as well.

The amber alert was issued last (Sunday) night.

They are believed to be with 50 year old Benjamin Moore.  He goes by several names, including Hawk Smith and Ben Skutchings.  Moore is also a convicted sex offender, serving time after being convicted of sexual interference involving a minor in 2009

According to the RCMP, the Ministry of Social Services contacted police when they went to the family home in Eastend, and found it empty. As a sex offender Moore is required to check in when he changing his address.  He didn’t do this, so police have issued a warrant for his arrest. The Ministry of Social Services has also obtained an apprehension order for the children, and that is what triggered the Amber Alert.  Its believed the family could have left the country more than a week ago.

Police believe they family has gone to South Dakota, and the RCMP are working with police in that state to try and have an Amber Alert issued there as well.
