Saskatchewan Roughriders Centre Dan Clark had successful surgery yesterday to repair a broken fibula suffered in the team’s win Saturday at Edmonton. Here is Clark’s tweet:
Riders Head Coach Craig Dickenson told 620 CKRM’s Sports Cage it’s a huge loss to overcome. “I hated to see Dan go down because he is the heart and soul of the offensive line but that is football and it gives young players a chance to step up and show us what they can do.”
Dickenson is hopeful the 34 year old Clark will be back at some point this season and admits they’ll have to change their strategy on offence. “We only have one practice day this week going into a hostile environment in Montreal with a new centre so we are going to keep it really simple.”
The Riders will hold a closed practice tomorrow as they prepare for Thursday’s road game in Montreal.
