Regina Police and Fire and Protective crews had an early start to their day on Friday.

Both units have responded to a fire to two homes on the 1600 block of Montreal Street.

The public is asked to avoid the area of Saskatchewan Drive between Montreal Street and Ottawa Street.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed off.

The occupants of the homes have been accounted for. The investigation is ongoing.
