The Heritage Conservation Branch of the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport presents a series of webinars this March on historic buildings, sites and archaeological projects.
The webinars aim to connect the province’s history to the present and the future.
The webinars will focus on Heritage Tourism, Historic Buildings as Business Assets, Heritage and Community, and Archaeological Heritage Projects.
Marvin Thomas, heritage planning and policy advisor with the Heritage Conversation Branch, said that the goal of the webinars is to show people the value of having heritage sites.
“Build interest in the sites and build awareness of the benefits that come from protecting them and perhaps redeveloping them, using them for new purposes and engaging with them in various ways.”
Webinars were held last year, and Thomas said they went over well, something he is hoping to continue this year.
Beginning March 1 and running through March 10, a webinar will be presented each Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m, Participation is free, but pre-registration is required.
