Cargill has announced it will build a proposed 350 million dollar canola crushing plant west of Regina at the Global Transportation Hub.
Cargill says the Global Transportation Hub offers excellent highway and rail infrastructure and offers minimal disruption to Regina residents.
Cargill Canada president Jeff Vassart says the location also gives canola farmers easy access for grain deliveries and allow Cargill efficient movement of grain, oil and meal to end use customers.
Construction is expected to begin shortly with plans to be operational by early 2024.
The new facility will have annual production of one million metric tons and create 50 full-time jobs.
