There are 47 new cases of COVID-19 being announced by the province on Tuesday. That is the lowest one-day total in Saskatchewan since November 4 when there were 36. 24 of the 47 new cases have a variant of concern that has been identified by screening.
With 95 recoveries, the active case count now sits at 722.
The news isn’t all great though as four more people have died. One was in aged 80 plus in the north central zone, one was in their 70’s from the northeast zone, one was in their 60’s from the Saskatoon region and the other was in their 50’s from the southeast zone.
There are 97 people in hospital with 15 of those in intensive care.
The seven-day average of daily new cases now sits at 70 which is the lowest it has been since November 1.
Almost 6,900 vaccinations occurred on Monday.
The province says 69 per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while 67 per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
