Good news, bad news on the COVID-19 situation in Saskatchewan

Active COVID-19 cases continue to drop in Saskatchewan, but it is another sad news day as six more people have died as a result of the virus.

In its daily update, the government says five of the six are from the Saskatoon zone with one being in their 60’s, two in their 70’s and two aged 80 plus. The other person to die was someone in their 70’s from the northwest zone.  This brings the provincial total to 534.

There are 118 new infections being announced Thursday.  When you add that to 216 recoveries, the active case count in Saskatchewan stands at 1,382.  On May 1, that number was 2,452.   Of the 1,382 active cases, 216 are in Regina.  On May 1, Regina had 761 active cases.
